We collect clothing donations from friends, businesses, and schools near us, and we hold pop-up thrift stores, where anyone can come and shop for free! About
Gifting For Thrifting is a non-profit corporation founded in 2018 by Morgan Moreno and Alaina Frazier, two teens from the suburbs of Chicago. We collect clothing donations from around our community, and put them into one day pop-up thrift stores where anyone can come and shop for absolutely FREE! Whether in need of new clothes or just looking to have a fun shopping day, come on out to the next GFT event!
Our Past Events
We held our first event on February 23, 2019 and over 200 people came and thrifted more than 2,000 items of clothing!
Our second event was held on November 23, 2019 and over 350 people came and thrifted more than 5,000 items of clothing! We were amazed at the turnout of both events and felt so humbled to meet the families we were able to help.
Gifting While Distancing
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to sadly cancel our March 14 event. As a response, we started a new initiative called Gifting While Distancing! Through this program, we have been able to provide over 55 families with free clothing since the start of May!
